Servicing Current Meters Along Packery Channel
CBI operates many current meters along the Texas coast. The following images were captured during one of the site service visits along Packery Channel in February 2013.
GIS Day 2012
Every year, TAMUCC-CBI (in partnership with Del Mar College) hosts “GIS Day”. This event is intended to teach students from local schools about GIS and geospatial processes. Close to a thousand students participated in this year’s event.
GIS Field Camp 2012
Students in the TAMUCC GIS program are required to take a “Field Camp” course which introduces them to a hands-on experience in the field of Geomatics.

Cooperative Agreements Between CBI and Chinese Geospatial Universities
In June of 2012, CBI director Gary Jeffress and professor Lucy Huang traveled to China to visit various geospatial universities and discuss cooperative agreements.
Temporary Wind Turbine Installation at CBI
In February of 2012, CBI installed a temporary wind turbine behind the CBI building to analyze the amount of electricity that can be produced by the turbine.

Operations Crew Inspect Aftermath of Hurricane Ike
In September of 2008, Hurricane Ike made landfall near Galveston, TX with a devastating force. The CBI operations crew traveled to the area to assess the damage to the coastal monitoring equipment (most of which withstood significant damage).
